Pothos Care

Pothos Care

Difficulty: Easy
Low Light Tolerant
Low Water Frequency
Pet Toxic

Plant Pictured: Golden Pothos

Light
Bright-indirect to low light. Variegated variations need brighter light to hold color. Satin/Scindapsus likes bright-indirect light and tolerates a touch lower light than variegated pothos.

Water
They are very drought-tolerant but prefer to let the top 1/2 dry out (slightly more for Satin). Water thoroughly and drain.

Humidity & Temperature
Average home humidity is OK, grows faster at 40–60%. 60–85°F.

Soil & Fertilizing
Standard indoor mix with perlite. Feed every 4–6 weeks spring–summer.

Pet Safety
Not pet safe (calcium oxalate).

Native Region
Epipremnum: Southeast Asia/Western Pacific; Scindapsus: Southeast Asia.

Fun Fact
Training on a pole encourages larger, fenestrated adult leaves over time.
