Growing up, Adrian's mother managed a coffee shop housed inside a plant shop. After school, he would often spend time there doing homework while surrounded by greenery.

Looking back, it became clear that he had been rooted in this world from the very beginning. When he finally brought together his love for plants and his entrepreneurial drive, he realized the seed had been planted long before.

Founded at 20 by Adrian, a Black and Mexican business owner in the East Bay, Raíz grew from years of hands-on plant experience and a lifelong pull toward entrepreneurship. At 16, Adrian began working with plants and quickly became drawn to the knowledge, patience, and care it takes to help each one thrive. What started as a job soon became a lasting passion.

Today, Raíz is the result of that upbringing, years of learning, and a vision to build something meaningful. It is a space where plants, care, and personal story come together. Every part of the business reflects a belief that plants do more than fill a room, they transform how a space feels.
