Light Requirements

Pileas thrive in bright, indirect light. A few hours of soft morning sun is great, but avoid harsh afternoon rays that can scorch leaves. Rotate the pot weekly so the plant grows evenly (they love to lean toward light).

Watering Needs

Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry. Typically every 7-10 days in bright rooms, less in winter. Thoroughly soak, then drain completely-Pileas dislike sitting in water. If leaves droop, it’s often a thirsty plant; if they yellow, you may be overwatering.

Humidity & Temperature

Average home humidity is fine (aim 40-60%). Ideal temps 60-80°F (16-27°C). Keep away from cold drafts and hot vents.

Soil & Fertilizing

Use a well-draining, airy mix (all-purpose potting soil + perlite, a little bark is a bonus). Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks in spring and summer, minimal feeding in fall/winter.
